Jorge Barakat Pitty, the Minister of Maritime Affairs of Panama visited our college on March 24th. Vice-president Zhou Mingshun, accompanied by the related staff from the Navigation department, the Engineering department, the Training center, the Teaching department, and the President office met the guests in VIP room.
Vice-president Zhou expressed a warm welcome to the delegation. He introduced the profile of our college, including the history of development, college characteristics as well as the prominent position of our college in maritime education field in China. Vice-president Zhou also reviewed the history of collaboration between our college and Panama.
Minister Jorge Barakat Pitty introduced Panama’s current situation of the master registration and competence certificates issuing, as well as his thinking about examines for mariners who hold Panama’s certificates. He also expressed a strong will of cooperation and communication with our college in the field of training for seafarers. Both sides made an in-depth discussion on the issue of Panama certificates training in China and so on.
After the meeting, Panamanian delegation visited navigation simulator, marine engine room simulator, two-stroke diesel engine training room and metalworking practice factory etc.
